1.Determine product requirements: First, clarify the product usage requirements and technical requirements, including product size, shape, material and surface quality, etc. If there are existing product samples or drawings, they need to be analyzed and tested.
2.Material selection: Select the mold material according to product requirements. Commonly used materials include steel, aluminum alloy, copper alloy, etc. The choice of materials should consider the product's use environment and life requirements. Material selection also affects mold design.
3.Draw product drawings: Use CAD software to produce detailed drawings of the product, including the three-dimensional model, plan, and section drawings. The drawings should include precise dimensions, tolerances, wall thickness, fillets, chamfers, etc. This step requires accurate measurements and calculations based on the size and shape of the product.

4.Mold structure design: Design the mold structure according to the product drawings. The mold structure includes a mold base plate, core, clamping plate guide mechanism, etc. Factors such as the product's shape and whether there are cavities and cooling channels need to be considered.
5.Mold shell design: Carry out the three-dimensional design of the mold shell according to the mold structure design. The mold shell is usually composed of multiple parts, and it is necessary to determine how to divide and connect each part.
6.Design of other components: According to the specific requirements of the mold, design and select suitable accessories, such as positioning pins, guide posts, and guide bushes. The design of these accessories needs to take into account the service life and processing accuracy requirements of the mold.
7.Inspection and correction: After completing the mold design, inspect the mold to ensure that the size and clearance of each part meet the requirements. If there are problems, corrections and adjustments need to be made. Die casting mold designs are simulated using computer-aided engineering (CAE) software to verify that they perform as expected during the casting process.
